How We're Led, church leadership

AT CHRIST COMMUNITY CHURCH, we are led and pastored by Jesus Christ Who is the Pastor and Head of the Church. We are governed by a board which is made up of called elders, elected trustees, a treasurer and a clerk. We are led, taught, and shepherded by pastors & elders (under-shepherds). We are sheltered by the trustees, treasurer, and clerk . The church leadership is  managed, supported, and kept accountable by the congregation, which includes the entirety of the active membership.

Eldership

The pastoral staff team is made up of the pastor and elders. The pastor oversees the

day-to-day ministry and operations of the church. They all serve the congregation and

are responsible for the development of the spiritual life of the church.

  • Scott Welch, under shepherd

Hello! I'm originally from New Orleans, LA, grew up in Slidell, LA, and have spent most of my adult life in Florida. I served my country proudly in the US Navy for 7+ years. At age 23, I became a follower of Christ and shortly after was called into pastoral ministry. My beautiful wife, Sherri, and I have been married over 20 years and we have one amazing son named Connor. I love being a foodie/cooking, reading, and spending time with my family which includes our dachshunds, Chewie & Molly. I also enjoy doing life with friends and extended family. I have a degree in theology and am currently pursuing further ministry education. My values for this life, which pour over into Christ Community Church, are very simple: Glorify God, Love people, and Tell of Christ's message of forgiveness.

I would love to hear from you. If you have any questions about our church, salvation, God, Jesus or if you just want to get together for a cup of coffee and chat about life, just call me at: 330-205-9257 or send me an email at: pastorscott@loveled.org

  • STAN DAVALA, BOARD ELDER

I am married to Denise for over 26 years and we have three adult children. Rachel, Joshua, and Caleb We have been attending CCC since 1998. I started serving the church as a Trustee and for the past eight years I have served as an Elder. For the past 14 years I have been the facility manager for The Salvation Army Camp NEOSA summer camp. Along side my wife, we have a passion for marriage ministries. It is our mission to walk beside couples to help them grow, and above all to learn about the love of Jesus. I recently have rekindled a love for the Old Testament and seeing the story of Jesus Christ played out in every verse.

A verse that has helped me through life is "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9   stan.davala@loveled.org

  • Joe Beasley, BOARD Elder

I was humbled when approached by church leaders and asked if I would consider serving as an Elder (in training).  It was not a decision, I took lightly.  Shari and I spent many hours thinking about the spiritual responsibility and our worthiness for the task.  Ultimately, we jointly decided it was something that should be embraced because of our strong desire to serve the Lord and his people at Christ Community Church.

Shari and I moved to Dellroy, Ohio in June of 2019.  Our decision to leave Nichols, NY and our church family at Calvary’s Love Church was prompted by my retirement and a desire to be closer to our families. Having five of our ten grandchildren living nearby was also a persuasive benefit.

Both Shari and my journey to a faith and trust in the Living God began when we were young.

To say I was guided and nurtured into the Kingdom of God by a godly mother would be an understatement.  From the earliest days of my life her devotion to the Savior was evident in all she did. Her trust and faith in Christ was infectious and I desired what she had.  As such, I made a public commitment to Christ following the preaching of a guest evangelist at the First Baptist Church in Turtle Creek, PA when I was 12 years old.

Over the years, my faith and trust in the Savior has grown.

In spite of innumerable dangers, toils and snares along the way, Christ has proven himself more than faithful.

On July 9th of 2018, I suffered what doctor’s call “The Widow Maker” heart attack.  During the 48 hours that followed the initial event, I experienced four cardiacs arrests.  On three of those occasions, doctors approached my wife, advised her I was not responding to resuscitation efforts and asked her when they should stop.  Mersa, Phenomena, Septus and Kidney Failure followed over the next three weeks.  My existence and presence in the land of the living can only be attributed to God Almighty and the prayers of His people.

Over the years, I have served in a lay capacity in all of the churches I have attended.  I have been blessed with the privilege of sharing God’s Word in churches, nursing homes and prisons as well as on a number of mission trips.  It is both Shari and my prayer that God will give us the wisdom and knowledge necessary to feed and nurture His congregation at Christ Community Church.
